Double standards in treating different countries under the global nuclear order and Europe’s diminishing trust in the U.S.’ umbrella of nuclear protection, especially under Trump’s foreign policy, have made countries rethink their nuclear nuclear strategy. This might move more countries towards acquiring nuclear weapons for deterrence.
