Rajasthan Royals (RR) is among the most prominent teams in the Indian Premier League. It has also appeared in two IPL finals and qualified for the playoff stages six times, having participated in 16 editions of the IPL.

Ahead of the season, RR made nine additions to its team, including leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne. The Royals strengthened their bowling squad by acquiring Sushant Mishra, Yash Raj Punja, Brijesh Sharma and Vignesh Puthur. Batter Aman Rao Perala was also added to the squad, while 24-year-old wicketkeeper Ravi Singh was bought from Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Among the notable inclusions was the return of fast bowler Kuldeep Sen, who returned to the franchise after a season away. The 29-year-old had been part of the Rajasthan Royals team that finished runners-up in IPL 2022.

The franchise was also involved in significant player trades. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja joined RR from Chennai Super Kings, while former Rajasthan Royals skipper and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson moved to CSK. England all-rounder Sam Curran also switched from CSK to RR, and Donovan Ferreira returned to the Royals from Delhi Capitals.

The team retained most of its star players, including Sandeep Sharma, Shubham Dubey, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Shimron Hetmyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Kwena Maphaka, and Nandre Burger. Previously led by Sanju Samson, the baton was passed to Riyan Parag.
